if the stats are rubbish on it, I just salvage it as I simply don't think it is worth filling too many inventory slots with them while you're on a mission/quest. Might as well clear the way for all the other decent drops you may get!

I sell everything I don't need to vendors. If it is a rune, I generally do not expert salvage it to get the rune, but sell it directly to a merchant unsalvaged, unless it is one of the rare runes that are worth a lot of gold. In most cases, you get more money from a merchant by selling the unsalvaged armor containing the rune than you do from a rune merchant. I generally do the same with items that show that an upgrade is being unlocked when identifying them. Salvaged, the upgrade item sells for 25 gold, while unsalvaged I generally can get more.

I normally offer them to Just starting out Members in our guild... Somtimes I offer them a vigor to offset the loss for em... but mostly I offer it and then sell it to NPS is no one wants it. The Gold and Green items I leave in our Guild Characters for others to collect later at their will.

I will be SOOO glad when some type of official guild storage exists.

The unsalvaged costing more I can confirm. Had an item that had a rune that sells for 100 gold at the trader (so they'd offer about 30 gold) - and Major runes go for like 54 gold sold to a merchant - but selling the armor unsalvaged landed me 76 gold..

Often, selling ID'd/salvaged runes to the mercahnt rather than the trader gives more gold; particularly with major runes, which typically get twice as much at the merchant (with the obvious exceptions of Vigor and Absorbtion).

I sell everything too, generally. The basic exception to the salvage rule being runes as others just stated. Also if you can get a basic mod for a a bow or melee weapon that has no stat to it I almost always salvage for that.

Examples are: elemental bow-strings, melee mods that increase condition duration (like hammer haft that increases wounding or weakness) and the like. Since you don't have to worry about it's % chance not being perfect and all the hassle it takes to sell less than perfect just they are fairly easy to dump. I can usually get 800 - 1.5k for elemental bow strings. When that stuff starts stacking up in storage then I just sell it some back to the merchant.
